Availability of Mounts

Availability of Mounts

Most of our members have their own horses or are leasing them from other sources. Children do not need to own a horse to belong to the club, however, they do need access to one when the activities are mounted clinics, camps or rally activities. Members who do not own a pony or horse can enter into a lease with a third party. When you lease you are responsible for the horse as if it were your own but you are not putting out a large sum of money up front. Responsibilities include hoof care, trimming and or shoeing of the mount. Veterinary costs, spring and fall shots, coggins and any other medical expenses.

If you are leasing a horse and the horse becomes injured you are responsible to follow through with all care and expenses of the mount until it is released by the Vet in attendance. Cost of leases vary, with the most common arrangement being the lessee doesn’t not pay lesser anything, but they are responsible for all other costs associated to mount while being leased.
